I have a Financial Aid question!!?

Evelin Turlich: FAFSA is simply the paper work you fill out in order to see what kind of financial aid you qualify for. They can't take away your FAFSA.However, depending upon what kind of aid you are getting there may be certain requirements to keeping it. You need to find out where your aid is coming from and what the parameters are for receiving that aid. Some ask you to keep a certain GPA, in which case failing one class isn't likely to drop the overall GPA enough to lose your aid, but if you consistently do no make A's and B's it can drop and they will stop giving you aid. An example of aid that does this is called HOPE, in which your scholarship can be taken for dropping GPA below the required 3.5.Others require you to be a full time student, or the amount of aid will depend upon how many credit hours you take. The Pell grant adjusts depending upon how many classes you take and whether you are a full or part time student. However, receiving Pell is dependent upon ho! w much money you and/or your parents make as it is aimed at those with lower incomes. Each and every type of aid out there, be it scholarships or grant will have different kinds of requirements for you to receive them.Best advice is to talk to your financial aid office about what kind of aid you are receiving and what you need to do to keep receiving that money.Hope this helps!...Show more
